I have changed what activities I engage in, in the world, because I did not think I was interested, enthusiastic, or fulfilled enough.
That doesn’t work, because interest is something I take in things, it does not emanate from the things; enthusiasm flows from bringing God to bear on the situation; fulfilment comes not from what I do but from the satisfaction of having done what I thought is God’s will in whatever is mine to do.
I’ve been dissatisfied in excellent jobs and entirely satisfied putting out the laundry.
