“God grant us the serenity to accept the things we cannot change, Courage to change the things we can, And wisdom to know the difference.” (Twelve Steps and Twelve Traditions, Page 125)
In my morning meditation, I arrange my day and tackle all the problems.
With each problem, I can either do something about it or I can’t. There’s usually something I can do about most things. With the aspects or things I can do nothing about, that means that’s not my problem or business. I can return to the question tomorrow, to see if anything has shifted.
A note on things I can’t: sometimes ‘won’t’ looks like ‘can’t’. It’s not inability: it’s lack of willingness.
Lack of willingness is easily cloaked with the appearance of powerlessness.
