Tact vs honesty

“The rule is we must be hard on ourself, but always considerate of others.” (Page 74, Big Book)

Honesty, in the sense of candour, is saying things.

Tact, consideration, diplomacy, discretion, modesty, humility, and other virtues involve not saying things.

Honesty is a virtue, but not the only one.
