Full acceptance

“fully accepted” (Page 14, Big Book)

I have done a lot of things to avoid accepting things. I’ve avoided the very thing I need to accept, hoping that I can avoid the question of acceptance. I’ve done a lot of religion in the hope that it would help me accept things. Ditto inventory. Ditto service. Nothing wrong with those, and they may get me a little way on the path to acceptance, but they are not the act of acceptance itself. I must accept, and cheerfully, joyfully so, not grudgingly, gloomily, or with fatalistic dread. How? By recognising that everything is in God’s good hands, and everything that happens is God’s will.
