“I know that many of my decisions could have been more wisely made if I had been more receptive to His guidance.” (ODAT, 1 May)
I cannot ask for God’s guidance too much.
I can ask too little.
Asking is the way out of guilt:
If I ask and act accordingly, I’m off a double hook.
The first hook: reliance on self.
The second hook: selfish action.
When I ask, what God does usually, however, is tell me to think for myself.
It’s then my job to do so, not feverishly but in accordance with the principles of the programme.
