I might go further: there’s nothing I can figure out by myself. Most information required to live in the modern world is accepted based on authority rather than personal observation.
My need to join Al-Anon was a good indication of the nifty job I had been doing figuring things out by myself.
The sixth sense is the plug that plugs the gap left by the first five and the application of reason thereto.
