What is an internal conflict? A situation in which I am pulled in two or more directions.
Self is the hydra-headed monster, each head with its own brain, and each jabbing and pecking at the others, because none can command the great beast to lumber in its preferred direction without the cooperation of the rest. Self is a thrashing, writhing mess of scales and teeth and achieves nothing.
Better than being a self-pleaser is to be a God-pleaser, because there’s only one of Him. Internal unity I’ve found only through internal alignment with the One Will.
