“Because there was no light, I was constantly getting hurt because I tripped over things, or bumped into them.” (ODAT, 7 October)
When I get hurt, it is because I have an expectation or demand, and the expectation or demand is confounded.
An expectation is an assumption that something will be so.
A demand is the attachment of my happiness to something being so
Only if I can see the expectations and demands can I remove them.
If they are not removed I will continue to hurt myself.
Note: hurt myself, not being hurt by others.
My hurt is an index of my own blindness to my own demands and expectations.
