Al-Anonism: the great sea creature with its tentacles
penetrating every corner of the alcoholic’s mind and life.
I’ve seen this in my own family: the alcoholic / addict
doing absolutely anything to get away from the intrusive untreated Al-Anon.
Even the fellowship of Al-Anon and meetings can represent a
continuation of this: continued obsession with the alcoholic under the guise of
‘doing something about the problem’.
The problem is the trying to do something about the problem,
because the intractability of the problem has not been accepted.
