Head-on

“Much depends on meeting my problems head on, calmly estimating their real character, refusing to exaggerate them, and then drowning them out with an inspiring thought.” (ODAT, 9 April)

1. Look

2. See

3. Right-size

4. Drown

Whenever a situation arises, I do have to look.

Having looked, I have to see.

Having seen, I must right-size.

Then, provided I’m spiritually fit (no secrets, no ongoing harmful behaviour, no resentment, no fear, no unamended harms, no unfulfilled obligations, no selfish pursuits, absolute surrender to service), I will know.

If I’m not spiritually fit: (1) get on with existing obligations (2) acquire spiritual fitness. If something genuinely commands an immediate response, ask a grown-up, trust them, don’t argue, and do what they say.

Once I know, I can accept the facts cheerfully and take the requisite action, equally cheerfully.

And then it is over.

On to the next thing!

If the situation tries to come back into my mind, hold it under the water until the bubbles stop.

An inspiring thought:

God has already solved every problem that will ever arise, because God is outside time and space.
