“I will begin correcting my problems by changing myself.” (ODAT, 14 April)
God will change in me what I cannot change in myself.
God will not change in me what I can change in myself.
God will do for me what I cannot do for myself.
God will not do for me what I can do for myself.
That’s the division of duties.
What can I change?
- What I believe
- What I think about
- What I do
I do not need to change.
It’s my ‘self’ that needs to change, my manifestation in the
world, through my beliefs, thoughts, and actions.
How?
By working the Al-Anon programme.
How do I do that?
During the day, focused on right action and service and
keeping my mind off the past, the future, others, the world, myself, my life,
and ‘the results’.
How do I do that?
By preparing properly at the start of the day in my morning
Step Eleven. That involves lots of activities, but, each morning, one of the
key elements is asking God for seven ideas to govern my basic attitude and
action of the day.
