Fear, anxiety, and suchlike are errors to be erased, not topics to be nuzzled or rabbit holes to fall down.
When I am in fear (the emotion, in contrast to the virtues of forethought, prudence, circumspection, attentiveness), I am in error.
I may not see I am in error: as with a blackboard, the error must be removed first, before the truth can be written.
Trying to write the truth over error merely creates confusion.
First I must become humble (i.e. stupid: I recognise I cannot see the truth), and then the truth can be written.
A Swedish diplomat wrote that only the hand that writes can erase what was written.
I must first erase the falsehood that appears to me to be the truth.
No other hand can do that.
Then I stand back and let God do the writing.
