I am consciousness, upstream of what goes on in my body and brain.
I'm not a consequence of DNA, evolution, neurons, neurotransmitters, neuroreceptors, electrical signals, the chemical soup of my brain.
I'm a human being, not an animated lump of flesh. I'm not a brain in an osseous jar. I'm not computer output. I'm not zeros and ones. I'm not machine-replicable.
I'm mind, spirit, soul. That's the Self (capital S), and that's the Self that was never born and will never die.
I am that which thinks: I am not that which is thought.
I am subject not theme or patient.
And upstream of me is the Greater Consciousness, which is God.
