When sharing in a general way, the etiquette I try to follow is this:
- For no one to learn whether I make a lot of money or minimum wage
- For no one to learn how much money I have or do not have
- For no one to learn whether I have a significant or insignificant role
- For no one to learn whether or not I am doing well at work
- For no one to learn whether I am 'progressing', being 'promoted', etc.
- For no one to learn whether I live in a huge place or a tiny apartment
- Etc.
Many years ago, I remember someone sharing, 'My drinking was so bad, my parents took away my keys to all of the houses.'
Yeah, don't say that.
