Can I just explain?

A: Here's a situation.

B: Here's my view.

A: Can I just explain ...? [Supplies radically new or altered information previously available but not disclosed ...]

At this point, it becomes clear that B's production of a 'view' was a waste of time. He must begin again. A, by failing to present the situation fully and accurately, is thus putting B to work a second time.

If I present a situation badly, elicit a view, then realise I need to re-present the situation, I leave it, and maybe ask someone else or figure it out myself.
