A not-half-bad safeguarding policy used by an online group:
Safeguarding policy
Purpose: to protect group members from unwanted interaction, to ensure the smooth conduct of meetings, and thereby to serve AA’s primary purpose, which is to recover and help others to recover from alcoholism—we cannot address or solve other problems.
Examples of disruptive behaviours:
1. Uninvited unmuting / speaking out of turn
2. Making negative or provocative comments to or about other attendees
3. Posting aggressive or critical messages in the chat
4. Unwanted messaging to attendees that persists despite a request to stop
If these behaviours occur, the host, co-host, or other steering committee member will provide a gentle warning. If the behaviour persists following the warning, the host, co-host, or other steering committee member will be empowered to remove the individual from the meeting. If the individual is removed twice, they will be excluded from attending group meetings and will be encouraged to try other groups; they are not being excluded from AA.
