Two languages to avoid

It's nice to learn languages, but a couple of languages, in which many of us are fluent, should never be deployed. These are, of course, Ancient Babbleonian and Victimese.

Babbling (shooting off in all directions, switching tack, churning out nonsense, non-sequiturs, concealing the truth behind a bodyguard of lies or even other, irrelevant truths) confounds discourse.

Victimhood (self-pity and its concomitant: the attack of the other) confounds relationship.

To counter them:

Forethought, focus, discretion

Recognition of responsibility for oneself

In thinking about our day we may face indecision. We may not be able to determine which course to take. Here we ask God for inspiration, an intuitive thought or a decision. We relax and take it easy. We don’t struggle.

As we go through the day we pause, when agitated or doubtful, and ask for the right thought or action.

But it is clear that we made our own misery. God didn’t do it.
