Humility

Humility has two elements:

The firstly element of humility is perceiving ourselves accurately.

The second element of humility is seeking to fulfil the role in the world that God wants us to fulfil.

With regard to the first element:

Who I am is spirit.

Character defects and virtues are tools that I use.

They are not parts of me.

With regard to the second element:

What does God want me to do today?

There are two ways to fail:

The first way to fail is by not asking God what to do today.

The second way to fail is by asking God for more than that:

Knowledge of higher matters; knowledge of the future; knowledge of the big picture.

Humility therefore means doing precisely and only what the Steps ask me to do.
