Love is impersonal, universal, anonymous giving, requiring
temporary but complete suspension of the ego.
It is not:
Wanting another person.
Desiring another person.
Thinking about another person.
Wanting to possess another person.
Jealousy in relation to another person.
Missing another person.
Wanting the other person to 'love' you back.
Feeling excited at the prospect of being with another
person.
Being worried, concerned, or preoccupied on another person's
behalf.
Being flattered if the other person says they 'love' you.
Feeling one is 'special' in the perception of another
person.
Feeling 'a special bond' with another person.
Believing one cannot live without another person.
Believing one must have another person to be OK.
Absenting oneself from the present to think about another
person.
Trying to get the other person to notice, pay attention,
want, and 'love' you back.
Organising one's life around the attainment of the other
person's attention.
Organising one's life around the attainment of the other
person's commitment.
Wanting to have sex with another person.
Sexual interaction and its precursors.
Wanting to be in a relationship with another person.
Being in a relationship with another person.
