None of the Twelve Steps ask me to change.
None of them ask me to become a better person.
I cannot change myself.
In Step Six, the only question is whether I am willing to have God remove all of my defects of character.
There is no action in Step Six.
There is no examination of individual defects in Step Six.
There is no removal of defects in Step Six.
The answer to the question contained in Step Six is either yes or no.
Nothing more is required.
I do not work on my defects.
I do not focus on my defects.
I take the action required by the last six Steps, and change within me takes place.
