Al-Anon and AA both use the same steps. Why do I go to Al-Anon?
If your house is on fire, drizzle and the water from the fireman's hose are the same water. The latter is simply flowing more quickly and in a more targeted way. I'm allergic not just to alcohol but to alcoholics, and, yes, the drizzle would eventually put out the fire, but, when the fireman's hose is directed, it's put out quicker. I tend to start fewer fires when I go to Al-Anon, and that's good all round.
