It is the Twelfth Step that is the service of God.
If I'm not in the service of God, I'm in the service of self.
Step Three begins the process of annihilating self.
Step Twelve completes it.
The programme is not about finding self; it's about finding Self, which is the Self that transcends the worldly self, which is really a set of false images, materialism, idolatry, hell.
I find that only in the Kingdom of Heaven, which is the joyful service of God, and sponsorship is the chief vehicle for this.
