In Al-Anon we talk about staying inside our own hula hoop.
It's important to remember that we only have one hula hoop. Sometimes we have what look like lots of hula hoops.
If this is the case, that means we've purloined other people's hula hoops, and maybe even God's.
Staying inside one's hula hoop means staying inside one hula hoop at a time.
