If you're sober a while and screwed, so you're not drinking, you're not doing drugs, and you're not in a fulminant food, sex, or gambling addiction, but you're at your tether's end. How do you do Step One?
Defo look at historical stuff re drink, drugs, etc.
BUT
How about go through Step One in the Big Book, substituting 'negative thinking' for 'alcohol'?
Thinking is a behaviour. The negative thinking is the problem behaviour. It will give rise to unmanageability (wrong action, failure to act). There might be actual compulsive acting out etc., but the problem is the thinking.
This is where to start.
