I've been in the programme for ...

I cannot be 'in' the programme. I can be 'in' the fellowship. Why is this not a trivial distinction?

The 'programme' is taken to be the solution. If 'the programme' is equated with 'the fellowship', simply being a body in the room is taken to be the solution. It's not.

Being in the fellowship is good, but it does not treat the problem. Being in a car showroom is nice, but it's a far cry from buying a car and driving to a destination.
