A pattern that occurs:
Person (A) wants to rescue. To rescue, there must be a victim.
The method: induce person (B) to act in a way that invites resistance or retaliation from (C). Person (B) implements; person (C) resists or retaliates; and person (A) then gets to rescue, which involves attacking (C).
The payoff? Attack is justified, because it's actually the heroic defence of (B), who is innocent. (A) is now the innocent hero by proxy, and has relocated 'sin' in (C).
