Prayer

It's easy.

Sit quietly.

Ask God:

What shall I do?
Where shall I go?
What shall I say?
To whom?

Then write down what comes.

If what comes down the tubes is novel, contentious, or radical, find a grown-up. A grown-up is someone who is over 40, sober a while, fruitfully occupied, and not a total jerk. Tell them what God said. When they stop laughing, listen to what they say. Hash out something that's gonna work.

If you want to use a Special Technique, fine, but beware of Special Techniques on websites with donate buttons and snazzy videos. Beware of Special Techniques with Names and Designations and Books and anything that makes you feel special, like you're taking a step up. Beware of anyone or anything that suggests you need Special Knowledge (and Special Workshops and Special Donations) to do the AA programme.

The programme is simple, it's free, and there are no barriers to entry.

Pages 84 to 88 of the Big Book are un-outgrow-able in terms of technique.

'broad, roomy, all inclusive; never exclusive or forbidding to those who earnestly seek'.
