A person goes into a house, and when they go into the house, they are given a hundred pounds, except, on the way out, the hundred pounds is taken off them, and they are also punched in the face.
If you asked the person why they kept going back into the house, and they said, 'Because I need the hundred pounds / because I like being given a hundred pounds', etc., does that adequately explain why they're doing it?
Obviously not.
This is the rationalisation of someone who is completely insane.
I listen out for this desire to rationalise in myself and others.
