AA is like a navy flotilla. There's a big aircraft carrier, then lots of little boats. The big aircraft carrier is like the Big Book. Solid, reliable, big, universal. The other boats are other, minority approaches.
Not only is the Big Book the record of the original design of the programme; I've also found it the most successful and resilient approach. But it's a very large vessel: wherever you go in the world in AA, you'll find people doing the programme exactly the same as you. And going back through AA history: the same.
That's why I like to travel in the aircraft carrier. It's the best vessel for enabling spiritual flights.
