Say it, shut up, and close your eyes

How AA meetings are conducted teaches me a lot about life. We share. When someone has shared, what they have shared is left there. It's not debated or discussed. There is no back and forth. If you want to share, too, that's great. But we don't cross-talk, except occasionally to express appreciation. I have been increasingly adopting this approach outside meetings, and outside AA. No debate. No discussion. No argument. If you start to argue, let's go back to our own, separate days. Like Mrs Lovett in Sweeney Todd, I have 'limited wind'. It's good to keep other people's sails out of my wind, and vice versa.
