Q: I don't call my sponsor much. Is that a problem?

A: As important as being actively sponsored is the knowledge that I am sponsored. The knowledge that I am sponsored automatically induces me to behave in accordance with my sponsor's imagined or presumed or stated expectations. I do not necessarily have to have intensive or even very regular, scheduled contact with my sponsor. The fact of his existence keeps me in line even before we contact each other. I do have contact with my sponsor. But this is an order for deepen and enliven the relationship. The relationship is established by my commitment to its existence.
