When you're in crisis mode (i.e. something's definitely not right), be surgical about identifying the cause and fixing it. Maybe more meetings; Step Eleven review; clearing an administrative backlog; grasping the nettle of an unpleasant chore; fostering dependence on God.
Once you're clear, switch to spiritual defence-building.
You want to get clear enough of crisis mode you won't tip back into it at the slightest temptation.
Spiritual defence-building involves prayer, meditation, plus spiritual watching, listening, and reading.
Precisely what one does in such situations does not matter hugely: one can proceed based on inclination, impulse, and instinct. Go where you're led; do what resonates.
If the spiritual defence-building is resolute and regular enough, it's much less likely that you'll end up in crisis mode.
