When I judge something as good or bad, my ego puts a sticky label on it, saying 'good' or 'bad'.
This then forms the basis for automated reactions in the future to similar stimuli.
When I react to something, I cannot help that.
But I can go back and remove the sticky label, neutralising the situation retrospectively.
The sticky label keeps reappearing.
So I keep removing it.
Eventually it stays gone.
Historically I would have extremely violent automated reactions to certain triggers due to childhood events.
The above procedure, with considerable calm and persistent practice eliminated these altogether.
