Plates

When I've got too much on my plate, it's because it's not my plate I'm looking at. It's God's. There's a lot on God's plate. My plate is one of those very small plates they give you at 'all you can eat' salad bars. It holds basically only the next right action. If the next right action is to make a plan or a decision, then that is the only thing on the plate, but I've got to make sure that making a plan or a decision is strictly necessary now: no general rumination about plans and decisions except in time deliberately set aside and structured to this end. When I concentrate just on what is on my plate, I'm absolutely fine. If I feel anything other than weightless and free, I'm carrying something that does not belong to me.
