The physical and metaphysical should be clearly distinguished. Sometimes, metaphysical, spiritual, philosophical, and theological discussions are interesting but are accorded too much significance in terms of their impact on how I apply the programme in my everyday life.
It's common for people to get lost in metaphysical investigation and speculation and start to question basic aspects of the programme like trusting God and praying for God's will for me today and the strength to carry that out (attitudes and actions: AA), and other fundamentals. This will not do. It's important to continue with the programme as it is presented without hesitation, deviation, or resistance. Sure: investigate spiritual writings. But don't let the tail wag the dog! The volatility of spiritual investigations means that they should not drive how I operate in the material realm until the results of the investigations have settled down and been thoroughly examined and tested. Rather, how I operate in the material must flow from basic spiritual principles (only) plus pragmatic considerations.
