I knew I was alcoholic because:
(1) When I drank, I tended to overshoot.
(2) I kept drinking despite the consequences.
(2) I kept drinking despite the consequences.
It had nothing to do with
- How often I drank
- How much I drank
- Who I drank with
- How much I drank
- Who I drank with
- Whether I drank more than others
- Whether I drank alone or with others
- The nature of the consequences
- My emotions on the day
- The state of my life
- Whether or not I blacked out
- Whether or not others knew
- Whether others thought I was one.
- Whether I drank alone or with others
- The nature of the consequences
- My emotions on the day
- The state of my life
- Whether or not I blacked out
- Whether or not others knew
- Whether others thought I was one.
As the two conditions above were met, BAM: I was an an alcoholic.
That meant it would get worse till it killed me. The only treatment is a spiritual awakening. Strange but true.
