What I feel and what I think

The twelve-step programme is really simple. Once the past is cleared, there is only the present.

I don't worry about what I feel. When I live right (right attitudes, right thinking, right behaviour), my feelings sort themselves out.

I don't worry about the thoughts that my brain (ego mind) produces. There is no hierarchy of gibberish. All gibberish is maximal. So I quietly let it pass by. No need to stare at the waters, try to hold onto them, or try to wrestle with them. Water always wins, and you get wet. The river keeps on.

And so I get on with the day. There is a universe beyond the brain (the ego mind). It's fun there.
