Some questions were posed at the 2019 Sydney Roundup, which I didn't get a chance to respond to on the day.
Here is the first:
1. When does Tradition II apply and you rotate out of service?
I think this question probably relates to my home group: to be a member of my home group, you have to do service. Members participate in business meetings and group conscience meetings and may also vote.
When a member rotates out of a particular service position, another service position is offered. As a fallback, we have a list of general alternates, who are group members available to stand in when someone else is absent or when there is a vacancy that cannot be permanently filled.
No one ever rotates entirely out of service, in that membership is always commensurate with participation in running the group, both in terms of decision-making and active work, but that work can be very low key, for instance, helping with the washing up.
Notwithstanding the above, anyone may attend every week without doing service, but they may not take part in decision-making.
