Want

“Never was there enough of what we thought we wanted.” (Page 71, Big Book)

My brain: “I’ll tell you what I want, what I really, really want.”

Me: “So tell me what you want, what you really, really want.”

I’m not sure I ever find out. I just discover that what I get is not what I wanted. In that state, I don’t know what I want; I just know I haven’t got it.

Best to give up wanting and start acting on behalf of God.

Soon enough, I discover I don’t want anything, which suggests I have what I want, although, when I try to describe what I have, I can’t, so I still don’t know what I want. I just know I have it.
