Serenity

“God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, courage to change the things I can, and wisdom to know the difference. Thy will, not mine, be done.” (Twelve Steps and Twelve Traditions, Page 41)

The serenity prayer suggests changing the things I can and accepting the things I can’t. Once I change the things I can, I can stop thinking about them. To accept the things I can’t, I stop thinking about them. Either way, I stop thinking about them.
