“Acceptance appears to be a state of mind in which the individual accepts, rather than rejects or resists; he is able to take things in, to go along with, to cooperate and be receptive.” (ODAT, 14 May)
When I seek to cooperate with the people around me—at home, at the office—I naturally see what the right thing to do is.
The right thing is usually a combination of minding my own business, not complaining about anything, concealing any negative feelings, which tend to die if starved of the oxygen of attention, combined with taking constructive action.
The simple prayer to use is this: “How can I be helpful in this situation?”
