Ideals

“their ideals must be grounded in a power greater than themselves” (The Doctor’s Opinion)

When my ideals are grounded in the world:

- Value—depends on how well I’m doing in a worldly sense

- Identity—my body, my assets, my position, my image

- Purpose—to have a good body, to be rich, to have status, to be well-regarded

These are volatile, uncertain, and unreliable and make me a miserable slave.

When my ideals are grounded in God:

- Value—incalculable

- Identity—child of God, spirit, roaming around in a body

- Purpose—to do my best to do God’s will today.

These make me a happy servant.
