Acceptance vs victimhood and tyranny

“Acceptance means simply admitting there are things we cannot change. Accepting them puts an end to our futile struggles and frees our thought and energy to work on things that can be changed.” (ODAT, 16 March)

Non-acceptance is to have something beyond my control condition how I feel.

That makes me hostage to it.

Acceptance restores my power.

If I’m a victim, you’re my tyrant, yet it was my tyranny that set the rules you broke.

To release myself from victimhood, I must relinquish my own tyranny of others, which, in liquidating my plan for reality, leaves me with reality alone.

Reality then ceases to appear to attack my, and, ‘poof’, there goes my victimhood.
