"Quite as important was the discovery that spiritual principles would solve all my problems." (Page 42, Big Book)
What a relief to discover I'm not affected by anything outside of myself, not really.
Things outside of me might push around my circumstances and situation, might even have physical effects, but, as I'm not a body, that's merely an inconvenience.
Even death might be seen as an inconvenience, but only if the attainment of one's goals required one to be operating on the physical plane.
Since my goal is metaphysical, namely to align myself with God's will, I don't much mind where that takes place. Minding is above my paygrade.
Here, fine. There, fine.
A good employee does not mind what he is deployed to do or where he is seconded.
The AA book provides the answer to all problems: surrender to God and have one's mind renewed.
I wish someone would tell the fellowship!
I've tried, but I can't get the point across.
