“When my thoughts are centered on learning to live, I will
be less tempted to involve my mind with the thoughts of how others live.”
(ODAT, 2 August)
I can legitimately think about what useful things I can do
for others. This is not thinking about them but about my actions.
As an Al-Anon, I have had to learn to stick to useful things
that are inherent to a role or are specifically asked for.
Foisted love through intrusive words or unsolicited actions
is unwelcome.
I do not even need to think about me.
I need think only about what to do and how to do it.
I could think about God, I suppose, but I’m not sure I’m
qualified.
Best to stick to my day.
