“Why don’t you choose your own conception of God?” (Chapter One, Big Book)
Three people can go to Paris and each have different
conceptions of Paris. Those conceptions do not change Paris. Paris does not
depend on those conceptions. Paris was there before the people existed and went
there and will be there after they leave and after they cease to exist.
When I have a conception of God, God is not dependent on
that conception and is not my own creation. There is arguably one God, not one
pocket deity for each person in AA.
I am His creature.
