A miracle is not just a nice thing that happens. A miracle is a happening that is attributed to the direct intervention of a divine power because the happening cannot otherwise be explained.
When someone takes the Steps and stays sober, that's not a miracle: that's the operation of well-established principles.
The only miracles in AA are arguably those exceptional situations where people never formally do the work yet, exceptionally, do stay sober long term.
