Acceptance sometimes really is the answer

The programme suggests:

Accept people as they are.

Not 'refuse to accept the unacceptable'.

Sometimes a person is on a 'journey', and the symptoms are very disagreeable.

My job is to love them anyway.

I might not stay in the same room or house.

I might have a tiny little break.

But it helps no one to stand there like a gorgon, crying:

'In Al-Anon, I have learned not to accept the unacceptable!'

And then pointing, with eyebrows arched, at the miscreant.

So, today, I'm going to do some accepting.
